We spent three weeks in Brittany in September 2011. I have eventually written detailed reports.
The first report covers a week based in Guengat near Quimper, which covers the coastline:

The second covers a week based in Plumelec near Josselin, including visits to Carnec and other megalithic sites:

Thanks so much for this detailed report on Brittany. We are going to France this September and will be in Brittany for one week. Your report and wonderful pictures will help me in planning. We are also interested in the many small villages and have been studying travel books for information. Your report gives far more information than I have found in books. We are staying in a gite close to Guemene sur Scorff and were delighted to see your photos.
I rather gave up on the guide books when planning the holiday. I relied on the Michelin Guide (not the most user friendly as it is arranged alphabetically under towns or areas and many of the smaller villages mentioned in the text aren't in the index) and the Michelin 1:200,000 map. We found so many hidden gems which were often as good as the 'honey pot sites' but without the tourists.
Good to see these excellent reports all posted in one thread so they can be easily searched. These reports are one of the best resources for planning a trip to Brittany that I know of.
