Trip Report: Tulip season in the Netherlands

A long time wish at last came true when I visited the Netherlands in April last year to see the tulips in full bloom. They were all that I dreamed of!! We also managed to pack in a quite a few visits to art museums..I have written a complete trip report which you can find at www.sujablogs.blogger.com ; if you have the intention of making such a trip in the future, it may well interest you.

That worked.

I would like to compliment you on a truly professional blog, and some simply wonderful photos! Your love for Holland shows through. Brought back memories of a lovely, friendly, country.

Suja,
We leave Australia on April 25 and our first stop is Keukenhof then onto Delft so I just loved reading your blog and seeing those stunning photo's - thanks so much for sharing.

Ronkala, are we going to be following each other around Europe?

Suja,
Thankyou! It is a really great report.

Maudie,
It looks that way but we won't be in Leiden 'til April 2008. Arrive Kandersteg 23 May, and can't wait to reach the less than three months to go mark. We're staying at Untours apartments in both places. If our health holds out, tentative plans are return to Switzerland in 2009.

Suja... yeah the linked worked. What great photos and trip report. Thank you. My daughter and I were in Amsterdam and Keukenhof in early May. You may enjoy my photos here

Next time I may go in search of Vermeers. Thanks again.

Oh I enjoyed that report - we are headed over to Amsterdam in late April - we have been before but not at Tulip time. What was your weather like? I am thinking I will need more than a hearty sweater - would like to take my leather jacket but that might not work so well in rain or for bike riding? Did you see alot of rain?

Suec1... I'd bring a rainjacket and maybe something to layer. We were there on May 4=6 and it was in the high 80s, I was glad I brought 2 linen sleeveless shirts.

Suec1...we went in late April and I was SO cold. And it rained everyday!!! I live in Switzerland, and it was colder in Amsterdam than it was here at that time. I would take layers..

Danna - your flower pictures are wonderful!!! Makes me want to go back again
