I thought I did and saw a lot in Krakow and Warsaw, but now looking at your report I see I will have to return. Missed some stuff!

Thank you for writing this and posting your photos--they transported me back to Poland, which I found to be such an interesting country.

Yeah, nice. I had a lot of rain in Krakow, too, in September 2012, during my three nights there. I have yet to make it to Warsaw.

There's a "Palace of Culture and Science building" in Riga, Latvia, too. They call theirs "Stalin's Birthday Cake" - looks basically the same as the one you saw in Warsaw.

Suja, I love your photos! You have an artistic eye with good composition. I am American of Polish descent. I grew up eating pierogis, kielbasa, and golompki! And kapoosta (cabbage soup). I visited Krakow with my husband and daughter who was studying in Prague at the time. This was October 2003! We have beautiful weather, sunny but chilly. Krakow is beautiful, and your photos brought back many wonderful memories. We didn't have time to go to Warsaw. But we did stay in a castle near the Ukrainian border on Halloween night! We were the only guests there. It was kind of eerie.

Thank you so much for sharing your photos and your trip report. I like the way you point out specific things, such as the street lamp on Cloth Hall.

We were very impressed with St. Mary's Church. We thought it was jaw-dropping beautiful, and I had never heard of it until we visited it. The altar is gorgeous!!!
