Trenitalia ticket office in Nice?
I am thinking of taking the overnight train from Nice to Rome. I can book the ticket over the internet but it must be picked up at one of their "authorized" offices and it seems that Nice is not one of them. It seems that the ticketless system will not work because there are two trains involved. Is anyone out there familiar with this line?

Thanks for that. The problem is that SCNF cost 25 euro more per person than Trenitalia. I am thinking of buying a short distance ticket to say San Remo and then getting the long distance tickets in Italy.

Hi lad,
Many international trains are not available for booking online through www.trenitalia.com.
You can buy your tickets online, as early as 60 days in advance, from www.sncf.com.

The border station on this line is Ventimiglia which is actually on the Italian side of the border so has an Italian ticket office. Frequent local French trains go from Nice to Venimiglia. Therefore, if you book the overnight journey from Ventimiglia to Roma with Trenitalia, you can get a local train from Nice to Ventimiglia, pick up your ticket for the overnight train, and board the overnight train at Ventimiglia.
