Trenitalia 50% Child's fare now applies to promotional fares as well

Trenitalia has recently changed the rules concerning the application of the 50% child's discount for the SUPER ECONOMY and the ECONOMY promotional fares. Previously, the child's discount did NOT cumulate with these promotional fares. Now, it does, which means that the child's rate will be 50% of the promotional fare (provided, however, that the MINIMUM fare is 9 Euros, even for children). This means that, when booking these promotional fares, you should designate your children as such (and not as adults).

These children also qualify for a 50% reduction on the BASE fare for Trenitalia RESERVED trains.

Who are "children" for purposes of these fares (on the RESERVED trains)? Anyone between the ages of 4 years, 1 day and 15 years, 0 days.

Toddlers UP TO age 4 years, 0 days travel FREE on ALL Trenitalia trains, without a ticket and without a guaranteed seat.

Remember that these promotional fares are NOT available on the UNRESERVED regionale trains.

Also, the 50% child's fare for travel on the UNRESERVED regionale trains is between the ages of 4 years, 1 day and 12 years, 0 days (NOT 15 years, 0 days, as on the reserved trains).

So many rules to remember!!!
