Yes the story of King Pedro and Ines are still displayed and the gardens and public rooms are still magnificent. But the service in the hotel and restaurant are unfortunately dismal. .

We are planning to stay at La Quinta las Lagrimas during our June trip. The reviews are pretty poor but there don't seem to be many choices. We will be staying just one night in Coimbra. Do you have any alternative suggestions or should we just go ahead and stay there with low expectations?
Thanks.
Thanks.

La Quinta was mostly disappointing because of the food. I would avoid eating there. Buts it has lovely grounds and ok rooms. We also enjoyed the pool. I would also not get any laundry done there. Unfortunately we didn't visit any other hotels in that city. If you check out our blog we do review another restaurant on the river which was great.
