travelling to Munich and Paris without pre hotel booking
Hi
we are travelling to Munich and Paris in this November. I am plannig to go without a pre hotel booking to keep on the flexibility . Is it ok in November?
Is it easy to find a hotel there in Paris and Munich?
Is hotels are available in this month or hard to find?
Is it a more expensive option?

In November, it should not be a problem to find a room. Problems arise only if there are major trade-fairs or the Oktoberfest in München. November is o.k.
I just made a quick check for 22 November, when there is the biggest trade-fair of the month, and it revealed 282 free hotels in München.
Just use the usual booking engines like www.booking.com or www.hrs.de or tripadvisor as a meta-booking engine.

Are you flying in long haul? If so do you REALLY want to arrive jet lagged and having to search for a room in your budget?
I would definitely pre-book my first night and last last night. In between - sure, you can wing it assuming you aren't too picky about where you end up.

We do it all the time. Advance book only the first night or two and last night. The new hotel booking apps makes it very easy to do. We would only book in advance if we knew we wanted to stay in a location for several days and are concerned about location.

Paris has thousands of hotels, it will be easy to find a hotel room somewhere as long as you aren't picky about where you stay and which hotel you want to stay in. I presume you aren't or you wouldn't do this.
I don't really get the point of pre-booking your first and lat night as it will then be a lot of trouble to move hotels just for that one night. I can understand the first night if you don't mind moving after one day, sure. I don't understand the last night idea at all as you'll have plenty of time to book a hotel when you are there for that situation and you sure aren't going to want to move hotels for one night at the end for no reason.

In olden days you could find hotel rooms at the train station or the tourist bureau. Is that still the case? We travelled for 3 weeks with our 3 kids using that method (in 1984--LONG before internet, etc) and with the exception of a couple nights did just fine. It was a bit of an adventure, to say the least!!

I personally always pre-book! I am fairly picky, especially with regards to location and budget, so it saves a lot of stress and hassle! I am able to focus my time more on sight-seeing. However, like everyone else has said. Hotels are everywhere in these places !

On the booking.com/munich site, you can select a dollar amount within your budget. You can select the location. You can check 3/4 stars.
It's on the left hand side of the page after you select your dates.
When it brings up hotels within your budget, you may be surprised at some decent hotels in good locations.

So presumably the travel dates are flexible? If not, why not pre-book? Are you familiar enough with Paris and Munich to know where you want to stay? How will you choose your hotel? How will you get to your hotel? If you do not like the first choice, how will you get to the second? Will it be in the same neighborhood?

What you are asking is very subjective. The recommendations you get are filtered through criteria of posters not always stated.
>>> Is it ok?
If you can take any price range, any location, any quality, any amenity, then you have the most choices.
>>> Is it easy to find?
Some are willing to spend several hours to find a hotel 10€ cheaper, while others might place more value on their time. I don't know where you stand in this area. There is no one answer.

Tourism is down about 24% in Paris, in the latest reports. I doubt November will be any different, since nobody much comes when the weather starts getting nasty.
But if you're nervous about ending up in the boondocks - which is easy to do, if you don't know the city well - you can book on websites which feature a 24-hr refundable cancellation. If you find someplace you like better with availability, they can be very handy.
Just don't forget to call them within the allotted time period.
