I am flying into Milan in June.I intend spending the night in Milan.
I then want to go to Venice and spend 3 nights there.
from Venice I would like to go to Rome and spend 3 nights there as well.
From Rome I will be going to Paris and spending 4 nights there.
From Paris I would like to spend 2 nights in Bordeaux.
Then I would like to spend4 nights in Barcelona.
I then will be spending 4 nights in Alicante.
I then will have to fly back to Milan from Barcelona.
What is the best and most economical way of doing this trip. Should I get rail passes for the 3 countries? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Why Bordeaux?
we've heard from friends that there is good seafood and wineries and it is also beautiful in the Bay of Biscay. We have two days before we get to Barcelona and thought we'd stopover in Bordeaux.Does this sound realistic?
How do you plan to travel? If by train, how do you plan to access the wineries and the Bay of Biscay? Actually, the bay itself is not particularly attractive although the Bassin d'Arcachon is nice.

If traveling by train, I would check to see how the SNCF (French rail company) routes you from Paris to Barcelona and use that as a guide for the intermediate stop. If down the Rhone, stop in a town along that route and try the Burgundy or Rhone wines that are available in that area.
