Will hotels in Paris supply cribs for infants?

Some will, some won't. You have to ask -- make a point of it when making a reservation. I'm guessing you have a better chance with the large, international-chain types of hotels than the B&Bs.

Alice, I agree with the above, and will add that the typical moderately- or budget-priced hotel room in Paris is often too small to open a suitcase in, let alone accommodate a crib. You'd have to ask for one of their larger rooms, if they have one.

I agree, most hotel rooms are too small for even walking around comfortably, let alone a crib! You might check with the large American chain hotels, i.e. Hilton, Marriott - I really doubt if smaller ones could accommodate your request because rooms are so small. Even the "large" rooms in most hotels are small by our standards. You will need to be very specific in your request and follow it up with a fax/phone call. You don't want to get there and be out of luck.

Just got back from Netherlands/Belgium w/a 6 mo. old (see my post elsewhere). The one baby bed we reserved was actually a play pen. We didn't use it, but it didn't matter. What we did was pack our baby's "bouncer", which is a wire bassinet with a vibrating function. They cost about 30 US$. It is easy to assemble and dissasemble and place in your luggage. Our baby frankly prefers the bouncer over a bed, though we try to get him to sleep in the bed when we are at home. Another idea we toyed with, but didn't do is use his stroller as a bed. We packed our large nice stroller (b/c it is more comfortable for him/us andhas shocks for cobblestones). The seat reclines and our baby often falls asleep in it during walks.

Cindy: Our baby traveled beautifully. We packed tons of diapers, formula and some distilled water (plus a hot pot to boil water). We didn't need to pack all the diapers and formula, but we did so knowing we'd use them and make room for, what else, souvenirs. The only problem was the weather: rain. Otherwise, we took things a little slower and made sure the baby had plenty of time to kick around on our bed at the hotel. The airplane was fine. (We had his ears checked before we left). He slept a lot on the planes, better than we did! <BR>

Dear Alice, never used this service but with a baby, www.bbfrance.com has a listing under France Regional - #10 Ile de France - Paris for a - B&B in Paris Center - that sounds like it caters to young children and their parents.
