I received some cash for Christmas and thought I would try to upgrade myself to the electronic age of travel. I know that most of you out there are savy travelers and I was wondering which product you liked to use and why. Can you please help me decide which to buy? I plan to use it for traveling as well as for everyday use. I am not much of a tech type person.
Thank you

Trip Ideas
I have a blackberry phone; phone service by cingular. I used the email without a hitch in Rome, Florence and Venice.
I carry an iPAQ Pocket PC that I use for everything, including international free phone service via Skype.
If you choose this route, I suggest you find a model with built-in GPS and WiFi. Here's more:

Traveling internationally with a blackberry doesn't do that much for me besides email and googling for addresses.
It's not the same as a Pocket PC where you can download city maps, get directions via GPS, etc. This is a much more useful travel item.
