Hello all Slovenian travelers,
I will be driving across Slovenia in mid-August. I'd like to visit Ljubljana, Bled, Bohinj and coastal region (Piran, Portoroz). Do I need advance hotel or pension reservations or are there enough options available if I just show up?
Please share your experiences, insights and advice. Thank you.

Slovenia has a ton of private rooms and apartments for rent. You can go through the owner directly, or go to the tourist office. That said, August is certainly peak vacation time. I'm sure you can find accommodations, but you might spend a bit of time each day looking for them. If I were you, and I knew when I would be in Ljubljana, I'd probably make reservations there.
