Traveling from the country to the city - permanently.
On the Real Estate page of NYTimes.com one can find a slide show presentation of Dorothy Randall's bold move from rural country-land to Manhattan. This 71-year-old woman decided to "get back to street life" and her story has me mesmerized.
I'm in the process of moving within Manhattan and I'm exhausted and depleted. Even more depressing or motivating, depending on what hurts, Ms. Randall is old enough to be my mother.
Ms. Randall, if you find yourself reading this, may God bless you for your will and determination to live the life you dream.
I absolutely adore the photo of you with the Benjamin Moore paint can in one hand and the roller brush in the other. This is one image that truly does speak a thousand words.
ps I'm quite fond of Brook Shields and very happy to see that she wrote "War of Words" in response to Tom Cruise's idiotic behavior. It's a well-written piece and shouldn't be missed on the op-ed page.
pss Happy holiday week-end everyone!

On the thread titled "NYCFoodSnob" where are you?" "someone" wrote that she know has a new name and it is NYCTravelSnob. But not sure if that is true. Very confusing for sure.

Congratulations on your new home, we are in the midst of something similar.
And I too loved Ms Shields remarks regarding "the ridiculous rant" and "While Mr. Cruise says that Mr. Lauer and I do not "understand the history of psychiatry," I'm going to take a wild guess and say that Mr. Cruise has never suffered from postpartum depression."
It was well done!

Thank you, Scarlett. The quote you posted was also my favorite and I considered a cut and paste but ran out of time. I chuckled finding it in your post.
Brooke and I go way back and I can assure you everyone in show business that knows her was completely stupified by Cruise's rant. Very few are as grounded as this lovely, talented woman and fewer are as honest. Just because you're a famous, wealthy actor doesn't mean you were blessed with a working brain. (Yikes! I hope this doesn't affect my business.) [-o<
