I'm arriving in Antalya about 7p and need to meet my sister in Kas. We're planning on touring around the coast for a few days and then going to Cappadoccia and then ending our trip in Istanbul. We have 12 days total in Turkey.
* Is renting a car to tour the coast a good idea?
* What are the best places to see knowing we will be around Kas and Antalya?
* Knowing I will have been travelling all day - will driving to Kas in a rental car be a little too much for that night? How late does it get dark? Am I better off spending the night in Kas and driving in the morning?
* Thoughts on taking the the overnight bus to Cappadocia vs. flying?
Thanks!!

If you're arriving by plane at Antalya at 19:00, it's going to be a bit tight getting to Kaş that evening since it looks like the last bus departs at 20:00 - http://www.batiantalyatur.net/?&Bid=197681&/Antalya-Fethiye-%28Sahilden%29
And if you've never driven in Turkey before, I don't think I'd recommend renting a car for that drive at night (unless maybe you are a very experienced driver).
Probably best to stay that first night in Antalya.
Will you be experiencing jet lag? If so, it would probably be best to stay in Antalya that first night. For what it's worth, I found the highway around Antalya particularly stressful to drive and I surely wouldn't want to deal with it if I wasn't fully awake!
Yes,spend the night in Antalya and have a rented car like www.economycarrentals.com brought to the hotel next morning. Stop at Cirali/Olympos for a nice break. the driving is easy on good roads. To give you a suggestion, last year we drove Antalya,Kas,Fethiye,Datca pen. Lake Bafa, and Selcuk (Ephesus) and Izmir, then flew to Cappadoccia (Kayseri) and drove to Goreme and all around, then flew back to Istanbul for a fantastic trip. There are some drop-off tricks to avoid the fees . Get another car from Fethiye to Izmir and you'll save a lot of money - no drop off!
