We are planning a trip to Pomorie, Bulgaria. We are interested in the best way to get there from Istanbul. We've heard there are buses, trains and ferries. Can anyone recommend the most reliable bus companies and whether there is a direct bus to Pomorie from Istanbul or do we have to go to Burgas or Varna and transfer? Thanks.

The Nisikli Turizm agency has ferries between Istanbul and Varna.
I drove from Istanbul to Varna. I suppose you could rent a car in Istanbul and make the drive if Bulgaria is approved by the car rental agency.
Thanks,
I'll look into that ferry agency. I am also considering flying into Sofia. Does anyone know if it is easier to navigate from this direction to Varna or Burgas and what means of transportation are most reliable from Sofia?
