Trip Report: SE England - Stately Homes & Gardens in Kent

It should only take 1:00 to 1:30 to get to Trieste and 1:30 to 2:00 to get to Opatija - depending on how fast you drive of course (Slovene motorways are all quite new and normally quite empty so people have a tendency to speed here).
Since Slovenia joined the Schengen zone at the end of 2007, there is no longer any need to even stop when crossing into Italy (or any of the other Schengen member countries). As for Croatia, it depends on the day of the week - Fridays are pretty busy going into Croatia, while Sundays are packed coming back. But under normal circumstances you're unlikely to have to wait more than 30 minutes.
Cheers

Thanks so much. It's easy to look on Googlemaps, but hard to know if you can rely on what they write. How about driving time on a Friday afternoon in late July or early August from Ljubljana airport to Kranjska Gora?
