Travel Insurance
I need annual medical evacuation insurance for 2012, several trips in Europe and central/ south America. Probably the longest will be 90 days or less because that's the limit of the insurance policies. It looks like either Travel Guard or Medjet Assist. The price is almost the same. Has anyone comments on either of these? Have you used them? You only find out how good these things are when you actually have to claim. Good or not so good ? Thanks.

Well we had TG and used it when I broke a tooth in Florence. Called and told them what happened and no problem. Got the name of a dentist from the consulate, made an appt, paid the charge. I got a detailed explanation on the bill, submitted it and they paid.
Of course this was something simple but now we always by from them but have no information on MA.

I used Travel Guard in the past as well.
They actually cover trip cancellation if a family member becomes ill. My dad neede heart surgery just ten days before I was to leave. They handled my claim beautifully and with no hassle.
