Travel in country in Europe at october

Hi ,
My wife and I like to fly in mid / late October vacation in Europe .
my age is 31 and her age 27 without children.
We are planning to rent a car and travel routes a day and are looking for a destination with natural landscapes and relatively cheap destination.
We were at the past Romania and northern Italy.
What destinations and routes you recommend traveling this time of year?

Some hotels and tours start closing for the season at the end of October, so do check ahead, but my husband and I loved a trip where the following four cities were bases:

Barcelona, Spain
Montpellier, France
Nice
Paris

We traveled by train though.

southern Spain would be lovely at that time of year, and still open for business. Sicily would also be good and ideal for touring.

hope that helps!

Portugal or southern Spain - Andalusia, Granada, Lisbon, Porto for still fine weather and a bit cheaper especially in Portugal.

Spain and Portugal are quite inexpensive and would have decent weather then. Other places in central europe (Czech rep, hungary, poland) are also less expensive than much of western europe - but will be cooler/colder than the Iberian peninsula.
