If by customs you mean passport control you don't go though it at either end since both countries are Schengen. You pass through the green channel for customs on arrival which basically means you just exit the luggage area without seeing anyone.
You will go through security and should allow enough time for that, and for check-in if you aren't doing that online. If you have to check baggage that will add a little time too. Check how long Copenhagen airport suggests you need.

You go through passport control when you first enter the EU. If you are coming from the US into Copenhagen you follow the signs for transferring passengers, you go through airport security with your checked bags, coats etc. then proceed to passport control where they stamp your passport. You will enter into a large open area with plenty of monitors with the connecting flights. If you checked bags they would have had a Paris tag (CDG) and you will pick up your baggage in Paris, and then go through either the green or red channel customs door and out into the public area. You will not go through passport control again in Paris as you have already done that when you first entered the EU.
You didn't say what time your flight arrived in Copenhagen, in the early morning passport control isn't too busy and there is usually just a few people before you. But things can go wrong and if you have a tight connection you should have a backup plan.

If it's a connecting flight en route from outside the Schengen area, see meath1's comment.
If it's a seperate flight after you entered Denmark or any other Schengen country on another day, there will be security only, no passport control. And in Paris you'd walk out of the blue exit (sometimes combined with the green exit) for arrivals from within the EU.
