Travel from Budapest to Rovinj, Croatia
Hi everyone!
We are travelling to Europe in early spring. We are starting in Frankfurt to stay with some friends before we drag them on to Prague with us for a few days. From there my girlfriend and I are moving on to Budapest. Near the end of the trip we want to go the easiest/fastest way possible from Budapest to Rovinj, Croatia. Any trains or buses we find are sporatic between Budapest and Zagreb with an overnight in Zagreb before we can move on to Rovinj. Would anyone have any suggestions of easier, cheaper, and especially faster ways to get to Rovinj from Budapest?
Thank you in advance!

Would you consider renting a car and driving? That's the fastest way. You can have a look at all the alternatives here: http://www.rome2rio.com/s/Budapest/Rovinj

You could try flying. I see RyanAir (a budget airline) has a flight maybe once or twice a week between Budapest and Venice (Treviso) airport (Despite the low fares, I understand that RyanAir fees can add up and they have super strict limits on the size of bags, etc.) You could take a bus or ferry on from Venice to Rovinj.
Driving might be the most fun. You might pay a one-way drop charge for a rental car but it still it could be cheaper than two flights + bus ferry and take less time.

Treviso - Rovinj isn't that easy.
The Venice - Rovinj - Pula bus (once daily) doesn't pass through Treviso. The ferries from Venice don't run in early spring.
You may take a bus from Treviso airport to Treviso railway station, a train from there to Trieste (2 1/2 hrs journey) and finally a bus from Trieste to Rovinj (3 hrs journey, 3 daily buses, less on Sundays).
Impossible to reach Rovinj the same day by public transport if you land at Treviso after 1pm.
