travel Copenhagen to Paris?

Searching for most enjoyable venue from Copenhagen to Paris May. Cruise ship docks May. spouse & I are wondering about time, cost, enjoyment from Copenhagen to Paris. Brother can meet us at either Paris airport or train station. One suitcase each and backpacks is excessive for train?

You can take whatever you can carry on trains - no one will tell you you have too much. Gare du Nord is a humongous station so have a clear meeting point.

Are you trying to do this in one trip? Just plug in your route into www.bahn.com. The fastest you see is about 14 hours. Do you really want to do this? You can fly this segments in 1:50, plus check-in/out over head, for example using SAS at $122-$350 depending on days/hours.

There is an overnight train from Copenhagen to Cologne, Germany, which now is only a few hours by Thalys train from Paris.

Copenhagen to Paris by day train takes at least 14 hours and involves 2 to 4 changes of train - the only viable way for me at least to go straight thru would be the overnight train, departing Copenhagen at 18:46, arriving Cologne 6:14 am and then changing to a Thalys train leaving at 6:44, arriving in Paris at 9:59 - if not a light sleeper then you may find the overnight train a time saving thing though it could be more expensive than flying.

Flying makes a lot of sense on that route if wanting to go straight thru.
