travel card?

Jump to last reply

I am going to Europe in 2 weeks time for five weeks. Usually I take cash with me and I know a lot of people do not like to do this but I have never had any trouble. However this time part of my trip is on a yacht in Croatia and I will be swimming quite a lot and what to do with my money? So I have contemplated taking a travel card with me on to which I can load money in Euros and then it is able to be used for purchasing or cash withdrawls. The bank here in NZ will charge 2 euros each time I withdraw but no charges if I use the card to purchase. I am not that keen on using cards and found a few times in smaller places that they weren't acceptable. Cash was so much easier. However maybe this time I could have part cash and the card as well. Has anyone used the Travel cards that can tell me how good they are?
