Italian media is reporting this afternoon (local time) that the Trapani Airport is soon to close to civilian traffic due to expanded military operations. All flights will be diverted to neighboring airports (probably Palermo). THIS AFFECTS RYANAIR, MERIDIANA AND AIR ONE. Updates will be posted as warranted.

UPDATE: A press report states that civil aircraft arrivals at Trapani Airport will be shut down at midnight today (local time), whereas departures will shut down tomorrow morning at 7:30 a.m.
Passengers should contact their airline for further information.

Thanks GAC. I did wonder about Trapani with the increased operations by NATO. I had considered the airport for my forthcoming trip to Sicily, but eventually chose Palermo.
Strangely, there is nothing yet on the Ryanair website.
