Transportation to and from Naples Airport
Hello! This is the first time we are flying into Naples Airport and I would greatly appreciate your suggestions on the following:
Naples Airport to Positano
and then
Capri to Naples Airport
I am a bit concerned about the capri to naples airport part. We have a flight that leaves Naples Airport at 11 am so we will need to leave the island of capri early.
Thank you in advance

Unfortunately the Naples airport site at www.gesac.it is not responding at the moment, but I am fairly sure that the S3 bus from the airport goes to/leaves from the ferry port.

Hi In,
http://www.curreriviaggi.it/ runs buses between NAP and Sorrento.
From there you take the SITA bus to Positano.
>We have a flight that leaves Naples Airport at 11 am so we will need to leave the island of capri early.<
You should be at NAP by 08:30. I suggest that you stay the night before in Sorrento or Naples.

Hi Indovina,
A limo transfer will normally cost € 100-120.
This will be your quickest/easiest option to Positano.
Public transport will take MUCH longer (- connecting in Sorrento with the SITA bus to Positano).
For Capri-Naples, you can find the hydrofoil/ferry timetables on:
www.capri.net/salsa/lang/en/page/transport.html
From the port you can take the Alibus airport shuttle bus (- or a taxi) to Capodichino.
Hope this helps ...

SusanP,
There is a bus (it shows up on the gesac website) that leaves every 20 minutes from in front of the airport terminal and makes a stop at the Naples port-where you connect for ferries to the islands. It's not the S3-it's the ALIBUS, as Steve_James mentions.
There is space for luggage underneath on the buses, unless you're like me, and always take a carry-on. You can pay on the bus, I've always done that- but there's probably somewhere in the small terminal to get tickets.
Regarding the connection from Capri back to Naples airport, the 11 am departure time will be hard to make without stressing yourselves, so it would be smart to make a back-up plan to stay on the mainland the last night.

The Alibus has space on board for luggage, not underneath. You pay the driver when you board. You'll catch it in Piazza Municipio, which is currently torn up while a new metro station is built. Right now the bus stop is in front of the castle.

OK, Steve, now that I've looked at those websites more carefully, I'm confused! I thought the two ports to catch a ferry or hydrofoil to Capri were Beverello and Mergellina. The Alibus says it goes to the Port Terminal at Piazza Municipio, where you can get the connections to Capri. Am I missing something?

Piazza Municipio is the stop for the Beverello ferries. After you get off the bus walk to the left of the Castel Nuovo towards the building with the two clock towers. Cross the busy road and go to the right for the ticket offices. The boats leave from behind the offices.
