Help! I am planning my first trip abroad and am desperate to find the answers to my transportation questions. I am flying to Ireland and plan to go to England and Scotland-what is the best way to get to and return from those countries? We plan to rent a car in Irleland and Scotland, but am not sure about England. We were hopeful that the trains must suffice since we plan to spend only 6 of our 21 days there. Of most concern is the transporatation between the three--can anyone help? We would greatly appreciate any suggestions. Thank you

Tough question as you give no locations. I think the plane would be the best to get you from Ireland to Scotland and train from Scotland to England (London?). If you are going to London only you definitely don't need a car. Scotland is fun to have a car and explore.
One tip on car over there: GET AN AUTOMATIC! Pay what it takes and you will be much happier. I have done this trip a few times and am very comfortable driving a stick in the US. Driving one on the left side of the road and shifting with your left hand is a whole new ball game. Trust me on this one. Get the automatic.
