Transportation from Milan airport to hotel

I am planning to take the bus or train from Malpensa airport to Milan central station. Is one or the other a better option? Seems like the buses leave more frequently and thus might be better-fare for each appears to be 10 Euros.
My second question is how to get from the central station to our hotel. I may stay at a hotel within walking distance, but another option is to stay at a hotel more convenient to the meeting I will be attending, and that hotel is some distance from the central station. Pretty sure I don't want to schlep a suitcase, no matter how light, on the Metro, having to change metro lines once to get to that hotel. Are there plenty of taxis waiting outside the Milan Central Station? What would the fare be, approximately, from the Central Station to a hotel near the Lotto metro stop?
Thanks to anyone who might be able to answer these questions!
