transport from geneva to chamonix

hey all

looking for some advice on the cheapest way to get from Geneva airport to Chamonix in January. the shuttles look well overpriced and people appear to have had poor experiences with them, are there better options? or if not, what is the best shuttle company to use?

cheers!

I believe there are regular buses that ply that route - not shuttles but buses - you can also go a round about way via trains that would not cost a ton but would require a couple of transfers and take 3.5 hours - check out the buses.

30 EUR/OW, 50 EUR/RT

The train line is interrupted for works. You would have to take a SBB train from GVA to Geneve Cornavin, a Geneva citybus from Cornavin to Annemasse, a SNCF train from Annemasse to St. Gervais (sometimes with a train change at La Roche) and another SNCF train from St. Gervais to Chamonix.

www.mountaindropoffs.com - doesn't look half bad, if all their claims hold up.

Europeans usually take public buses like those of SAT mentioned above.
