Transport from Chunnel to St Germaine

Three of us are travelling from London on the Chunnel to Paris. What is the best -most convenient way the get to our hotel in St Germaine? I think we should probably take a taxi- does anyone know what they cost? Thnx for any suggestions.

The chunnel train stops at Gare du Nord in Paris which is also served by the 4 subway line which passes through St Germain (direction Porte d'Orleans). You'd probably want to get off at the Odeon subway stop.

For three people, lugging your stuff to a taxi is probably easier than lugging it to the Metro. The trip will cost you around 60-70 francs.

Thank you for your advice. 60 to 70 ff seems to be worth the trouble. Tipping for cabs- is it roughly the same in the US? I must learn to tone down my tipping in France since there is supposed to be a percentage included-no?

Americans are notorious over-tippers. Still, French cabbies appreciate a small tip. Keep it to 3-4 francs, 10% maximum if he's particularly helpful with your luggage.
