Transport Christmas and NYE

I'm planning on getting the train from Strasbourg to Paris on Christmas Eve and then the train from Paris to London on NYE. Am I crazy or will this work?

Just be sure to book the Eurostar as far in advance as you can.

The Eurostar will be crowded, so pack as lightly as you can.

Christmas eve and New Year's eve fall on a Sunday this year, so the heavy travel days will be 22, 23, 29 and 30.

Oh that's good for me haha it turns out we will be getting the train from Strasbourg to Paris on the 23rd though. Does anyone recommend hiring a car in Paris when we land and driving to Strasbourg or just train it?
