Transfer between Turkey Cities

I've finally booked our airline ticket and is now trying to reserve our flights within Turkey. Our itinerary would be Istanbul-Cappodacia-Izmir-Antalya. We're planning to fly from Istanbul to Kayseri; fly Kayseri to Izmir; drive Ephesus to Antalya and finally fly from Antalya to Istanbul. Would flights be available on those routes? Would it be better for me to book it through a Turkey travel agent or just directly with airlines? If with airlines, would appreciate websites for those airlines. Thank you.

I am doing the exact same itinerary next week. I booked all flights myself through Turkish Airlines (thy.com). We are flying Istanbul to Nevsehir and out of Kayseri to Izmir because it was a little cheaper. The flight from Kayseri to Izmir is through Istanbul. I could not find any direct flights.

We flew from Istanbul to Izmir on Onurair and from Kayseri to Istanbul on Pegasus Air. Both are low cost airlines. Check their web sites for schedules and fares.

I booked a few flights myself, then used a Turkish travel agent ( Anker Travel, based in Kusadisi) for the rest. The rates that Ceyda found for me were lower than the ones that I could find myself. For a list of Turkish travel agents, you can look at Turkeytravelplanner.com, and/ or post for [email protected], a frequent, Cappadocacia-based poster on this board.

There are not always direct flights from cappadocia to Izmur...not everyday. Just look at websites and your itinerary. They also don't let you to book too far in advance (not more than a couple months)...but it may seem that it's sold out, which isn't true.

You can book your tickets online with a bit of work....Turkish airlines web site is easier to navigate.

ONE IMPORTANT NOTE ! Have your credit card you used to buy ticket with you. If you fail to show the exact same credit card, you will have to buy them again, reimbursement possible but will take your time to achive !

Using online portals does not always support 7/24 assistance and using travel agency services might save you from hassle and might be safer at the end of the day.

Good Luck,

We have the same IT, traveling during the winter schedule but realized that the direct flight Cappadocia - Izmir is not available on all days or might not be available at all. I am aware of the buses between cities but prefer to take the sleeper trains (for comfort). Would anyone know the sleeper trains destinations? Yes, I tried the website but did not go anywhere. Did not get interst also from travel agencies. I am very much interested on the Cap.-Izmir or the Cap.-Antalya sleeper trains. Thank you.

Trav08;

Here is the link for trains:

http://www.tcdd.gov.tr/tcdding/index.htm

But from Cappadocia to Izmir no trains. If Sun Express continues on winter schedule at least twice weekly direct (ish) flight will continue. I would not recommend bus for such long way. Flying via Istanbul is always an option or from Ankara if you want to visit the capital.

Happy travelling,

Murat

Thanks, Murat. Is there a Cap.-Antalya sleeper train? What days do Sun Express usually fly Cap.-Izmir?

We've decided to take the Capp.-Pamukkale overnight bus. Did anyone take that overnight bus already? How was it as far as comfort and safety are concerned?

Sun Express now flies Mondays and thursdays.

No sleeping train or no train at all between Cappadocia and Antalya.
Self drive or bus are the options if not flying via Istanbul. If you are going to Pamukkale than I assume you will be visiting Ephesus. Izmir Antalya flights than better serves your purpose.

Best Regards,
Murat
