Travelling out from Paris to Dijon, does not seem a problem with train times, however, on our return journey we need to travel from Beaune to Dijon, onto Paris and then on to Reims. We would prefer to arrive in Reims not too late in the evening. I seem to be having difficulty in finding trains in the afternoon. Would really appreciate some help and any suggestions. At the end of our time in the Champagne region, we need to travel from Troyes back to Paris..In total we have 4 days of travel. Point to point or pass??? We are travelling in September.

You just have to price it out and see which is less expensive. www.voyages-sncf.com
Friends just did Beaune to Dijon and then on to Paris; Beaune to Dijon is just 15 min. on a regional train, change to a TGV in Dijon.
I just put in Beaune as departure point and Reims as arrival on the above site and see lots of possibilities in the late morning or afternoon. Some trips take you through Paris (where you have to change train stations) and others bypass Paris, taking you through Marne la Vallee, etc.
