Train/Bus from Vienna to Budapest

Hi everyone,

I do realise this is probably the easiest thing to work out but I'm not so great when it comes to working with public transport at all in any way so I would really appreciate the help!

I will be arriving in Vienna via Student Agency from Prague and staying for just under a week and then will be heading to Budapest hopefully on April 8th around mid-day. I do prefer taking buses but will take whichever is required to get there. So I'm looking for one that I am able to purchase tickets preferably online for and will require no changes at all getting to Budapest. Any help is greatly appreciated! I plan on taking Student Agency to get back to Prague from Budapest.

Please & Thankyou

If you really into buses, then you can try either Eurolines Austria (http://www.eurolines.at/en/home) or Hungarian one (http://www.volanbusz.hu/en). Also there is another bus company operating on route Vienna-Budapest, it's called Orangeways, but it tends to be rather unreliable, thus won't recommend.

<< I do prefer taking buses>>

Good gosh, why? They're slower, more cramped, offer no amenities and subject to traffic.

Train is easy in the area, and you could also take the hydrofoil down the Danube if you want the 4.5 hour scenic route.

Vienna - Budapest heavy discount tickets are extremnly limited while beginning advertised price may be less than 29 euro - these sell out and then prices move to next level.- still some available at price I quoted - others sold out on Op travel date of the 8th.

Travelers must check for individual days and times to find price available.
