train travel Uzhhorod / Krakow /Budapest

I hope to travel from Uzhgorod, Ukraine to Krakow for a few days in Oct 2006 and then on to Budapest to catch a flight home to the US. Any information on train travel between these cities AND how vs. need to book tickets ahead of time? is there a site where I can get info in English on schedules and prices?
