Train travel options from Rome, Florence, Venice, Paris

Jump to last reply

I need help finalizing what travel option should we take for my 12 day trip to Italy - Rome. We are a couple travelling to Italy-France from March 23- April 4th 2012. Following is the itinerary
Leaving from Delhi -
Rome (3days)> Florence (2days) > Venice (2 days)> Paris (3-4 days) and then Back to Delhi

I think our total travel days will be 4 days covering 4 cities from 2 countries. Within Italy and Paris I think we'll be on foot or whatever public transport is available (from what I've researched)

For the above travel, should we -
1. take a Eurorail pass for these 2 countries
2. Take a eurorail pass for Italy travel and then one way ticket from Venice - Paris
3. Take buses within Italy and overnight train from Venice-Paris

We'll ideally like the cheaper option. From what I can find on raileurope, italy-france pass seems cheapest Options. Want to explore if there are any other options I might have missed?

Thanks.
