Train travel from FCO Rome
I'm trying to gauge the amount of time it's going to take for me to get from FCO Rome Airport to Civitavecchia. From what I've read taking a train would be the fastest and cheapest. Does anyone have an idea as to which train to take and how long the travel time would be?
I think i'll be cutting it close from a flight to a cruise in the same day. Thanks for your help.

The trip varies depending on the time of day and connection time, many options at about 1 hour 40 minutes, but some more and some less. You will need to take one local train from Fiumicino Airport train station to Roma Trastevere station and switch there to a train to Civitavecchia. Cost is 11 euro total for the two trains.
You can check schedules here, using from "Fiumicino Airport" and to "Civitavecchia".

Do NOT buy these tickets online. They are both R trains and there is not benefit to buy online since the trains are open seating and do not sell out. In fact, online R tickets have more restrictions than those purchased at the station.
Do NOT take the Leonardo Express from FCO to Roma Termini to catch the Civitavecchia train--this is more expensive and adds distance to the trip.
Note that the cruise port is some distance from the train station in Civitavecchia, so you will need to allow plenty of time to get to the port.

There is daily bus service between the Fiumicino and Civitavecchia at 11:00 a.m. and 2:45 p.m.

If it is possible, and for your own peace of mind, why not allow a day in between your flight and the cruise.
With air travel today you never know.
I haven't done this route but I would pick a direct bus over a train switch any day.
Have a great vacation.
