Last leg of our trip in Europe ends in Budapest. We need to get to Vienna to connect with flight home to Australia. We are aiming to do this by train. Is it possible (as one Google search suggested) to book travel to Vienna's international airport from Budapest? If not any suggestions would be welcomed. We want to do this leg to Vienna in one day. Thanks Denise

No need to pre-book, as these trains are not 'reservation compulsory' and cannot 'sell out'.
You can save a few euros by pre-booking Budapest-Vienna (Westbahnhof) at www.mav-start.hu from €19, but even if you just rock up at the station the fare is €25-€35 per person one-way.
They may or may not be able to sell a through ticket to the airport, if not, simply buy another ticket in Vienna, it's easy.
Thank you for the help.
