We are arriving in Bari, Italy by air at 11:25AM (Private Aircraft). We want to travel to Sorrento by train that day, but not sure if we should book online or call trenitalia. Would like 1st class for four. Can you get a sleeper car during the day.
How is Sorrento in November? everything closed up?

GnC - Bari-Naples is a Eurostar or Intercity service with a change in CASERTA.
From Caserta to Naples it's a Regional train (i.e. no 1st class).
You can't get a sleeper car.
You could book online if you wish. But I don't think you'd have a problem getting 1st class on the day.
You can find timetables and fares on
www.trenitalia.it
From Naples you would take the local Circumvesuviana train to Sorrento.
Sorrento is a busy commuter town and I think you'll find many places still open in November.
Hope this helps ...
Steve
There are only a few trains a day from Bari to Caserta. There are more frequent services via Foggia: take a train from Bari to Foggia, then a bus to Napoli (hourly service, journey about two hours), then the local train to Sorrento. The buses leave from outside the station, and number of changes is the same as taking the train to Caserta. Alternatively, if it's a private plane, why can't it take you directly to Napoli?
