Circumvesuviana line. Very easy to get there and back. Multiple stops, though.

It takes about a half hour, and drops you right near the main entrance of Pompeii. Very easy, but there are a LOT of stops.

Choose Circumvesuviana under Ferrovie (literally iron ways), or better go directly to www.vesuviana.it

Sorry, I looked at the wrong column. Apparently, there is only one route from Naple to Pompeii-Scav and contiunes on to Sorrento.

Trains run every 30 mins. on the Sorrento-Pompei-Naples route.

Ken - Coming from Naples the train stops ONLY at POMPEI SCAVI.

(It does NOT stop at Pompei town, which is on another line).

For Pompei Scavi coming from Naples, MAKE SURE you catch the Naples-Sorrento train.
