Train from Portsmouth to Gatwick

Jump to last reply

I've searched through this site for answers to this question without results, so her goes...
We are planning to take the ferry (Brittany Ferries) from France (Cherbourg) to Portsmouth on May 25, 2011. Our ferry arrives at Portsmouth at approx. 1730 and there is a train that leaves from Portsmouth/South Seas station at 2030, and arrives at Gatwick at 2210. Is it reasonable to expect that we can make that train? I know that we will need to catch a taxi from the dock. We will have 2 small roller bags and 2 back packs. I can't seem to find any definite answers on Brittany's website. Any info would be greatly appreciated. This will be the last night of our 2 week vacation....I don't want it to be too stressful :)
