Train from Malpensa Airport to Moneglia

Jump to last reply

Our flight arrives at Malpensa Airport at 8:50 am. I had been thinking about renting a car to drive to Moneglia where we will be staying for four days but now I'm thinking that it is better to take the train down and just use the local trains to get around - given everything that I've been reading about how difficult it is to get to places like the Cinque Terre by car. Does it make more sense for us to just use trains?

If so, what is the best routing to get from Malpensa to Moneglia? On the Trenitalia site, I see that we can take a train right from the airport but it goes into Milan and then down to Genoa where you change trains again. And it won't let me book this option for some reason. Is there a more direct way to get there that won't take all day?
