Train from Madrid to Granada

Has anyone taken the train from Madrid to Granada? I read that it takes 6 hours, is there an express line?

Hi

I just checked the www.renfe.es site and it doesn't appear there is a direct train route to Granada from Madrid. Have you thought about taking a bus coach? See http://www.estaciondeautobuses.com

Good luck

I took the night train, rented a Pullman. Took a slug of anis after dinner at Botin, and woke up in Granada. Not bad.

You can take the Talgo from Madrid to Granada in 6 hours, or opt for the AVE to Sevilla (2-1/2 hours), spend some time in Sevilla (have lunch, do some shopping) and then catch the regional to Granada (3 hours).
