Train from Luxembourg City to Trier
Hi all,
I'm trying to figure out prices from Luxembourg Gare to Trier via train. I was researching on bahn.de and it says 16 euros. This seems awfully high for a 45 minute ride.
On the Luxembourg train site (all in french) I seem to see some type of ticket for 6-7 euros, but my French is rusty.
Can anyone help with prices? Also, how frequently do trains run?
Thanks in advance!

See if this link will pull up for you...it looks like they have a "day-trip special " = TAGESFAHRKARTE for that lower discount rate you saw.
Is this a trip that you are taking soon? Do you have specific dates? Weekend vs. workday? One way or aller/retour?

Just in case the link given by klondike doesn't work for you, the fare is 8.40 EUR for a same day aller-retour (roundtrip) ticket.
Bahn.de shows trains running about once/hour with fares of 15.60 EUR for regional trains and 18.40 EUR for Intercity trains.

Bahn.de yes gives about 16 euro for all those trains - as for the day trip specials check for special conditions as well before buying - at times those have blackout times during rush hours - not this specific one but in general
If 16 euro each way then about $50 buy another day on that Germany-Benelux railpass - or whatever pass you were considering

Klondike: It will be 9/10/2010 leaving Luxembourg around 9-10 AM and return mid-afternoon. I see the website, but my french sucks.
I'm guessing that bahn.de doesn't show those special tickets.
PalenQ: Yes, this is why I was trying to figure out price. If I need to add another day to my pass....if the round trip is only 8.40 euros, then no need. But if the bahn.de prices are correct, then it is much higher and may be worth buying the pass.
