Tours of Chianti from Florence- need recommendation

We will be based in Florence. Can anyone recommend a small group tour of the Chianti region that includes wine tasting, lunch or dinner and visit to quaint town. We would also consider other wine regions that are a day trip from Florence

Thanks very much

Luca Garappa of hillsandroads.com offers private and small groups tours in the area. He is well considered o this site. A nice fellow and good guide.

My daughter and husband took a wine country tour with Donatella Nonni

They were so pleased that my husband and I are planning to book her for our upcoming trip. I believe she lives in Sienna but she picked them up in Florence. They toured some wineries, visited some quaint villages, and had lunch at an agrotourism facility where they bought some very good olive oil. Sounds like a good tour to me.

Another vote for Luca Garrapa. He does customized fabulous day tours in the Tuscany area. He is a fabulous guide, very knowledgeable and a great person to spend the day with. He is a very safe and reliable driver and he comes highly recommended by many people on this board.

Or, if you want to save money, there are these subsidized tours for 15 Euro per person:

They run from April through November, except for August.

I recently did a tour with Tuscan Trails, and it included a couple of wineries and a great lunch - a full day out of Florence. You can check them out here: http://tuscantrails.com/

Does the post from Valerio_Magri sound like advertising? If you check the website, he is the contact (owner?) of the company. I don't think advertising is allowed. Editors????

gh21, a few years back we used COUNTRY TOURS out of Siena and were very satisfied. They do Chianti tours from Florence also. Good luck!

Thank you all for your suggestions. I've decided to book with Angela of Tuscan wine tours based on all of the great reviews I've read.
