Hi there,
My friends and I have almost finalized our Spain trip for April 2010. We will post a final itinerary to get some feedback on that.
For now, I really need your expertise in suggesting tours for Seville, Cordoba and Granada. We will be in Seville for 3 days with one of them being a day trip to Cordoba then will be in Granada for 2 days and of course want to do the Alhambra.
We would like the tour to be full of insight and want it to take us back there...We don't want something too rushed so if you have any suggestions on tour companies you used, please share.
Thanks,
Linda

You can do a little research on www.exploreseville.com, probably one of the best sites have to do with Sevilla. For Cordoba I recommend searching www.spain.info/us/TourSpain. As far as Granada goes, Maribel's Guides offers an excellent look at the city and its sites (www.maribelsguides.com).
You don't need a tour, just a good guidebook and a map.
Or at least I've always found it to be so, but then I enjoy the challenge of finding things out for myself - and it really isn't hard to travel most places in Europe. Spain has an excellent train and bus network; there are also local town buses in Granada that are easy to use. Cordoba is a walk everywhere sort of place. Can't speak for Sevilla, though my sister who was passing through for a day only spoke highly of the town tour bus (open topped? can't remember whether she said it was or not; and whether it's a hop on, hop off number. But that's perhaps something to do a google for.
Cheers.
Thanks for the responses. Can anyone recommend any private tours for these locations? I'm not a big fan of a big group following the person with the umbrella or some other sign.
I will explore the sites Robert2533 listed - thank you.
Agree to get a couple decent guidebooks. You may want to consider a walking tour of a particular area - although I haven;t done those in Spain - but have enjoyed them in Venice and Prague.
For major sights - just get on your feet and go. Many have audio guides you can rent or borrow. (We did one in a beautiful church in Salzburg that was a real hoot - the person reading the script kept talking about the statue of "the Wirgen").
Someone in another link suggested the-other-spain@hotmail.com
for a tour of the White Villages from Sevilla. I contacted him and he was gracious in trying to get a group to end the tour in Ronda in September. I would check this site and see if it helps you.
