Todi as a stopover?

We'll be driving from Urbino to Ciampiano airport to drop off our rental car. We're spending the night in Rome (flight home the following day from FCO ) but we've been there a lot recently (including just a couple months ago) so don't feel the need for any time. So I was thinking since we will be going right by Todi it might make a nice stopover for a few hours. Is this a good idea? Is it 'worth' it just to stop for lunch and a couple hours walking around? Is it fairly easy to drive in/out of or would driving into the town and parking be more trouble than it's worth?

Thanks for your thoughts?

We did a day trip there and had lunch with a beautiful view.It is very high up on a hill. Beautiful piazza. I can't remember where we parked but don't recall any problems.

We stayed in a rental about 10 km outside Todi several years ago. Todi has a lovely central piazza, beautiful views over the surrounding countryside, and, at least at that time, an upmarket feel. Getting in and of the town was easy--there was a funicular with a parking lot at its base.

Love todi. Please,go. I have a friend who always stayed there over night before her flight back to the USA the next day. Just idea depending on what time your flight leaves.

Todi is a lovely place. There is a pay parking outside the town (Porta Orvietana) and a lift to take you up to the center.
