To St. Pancras at stupid-o'clock: how would you do it?

My small family will need to catch a Eurostar train at around 6 am from neat St Katherine's Docks.

I am thinking that a mini cab is the way to get there, and Carrot Cars seems like a good company.

Would you do this differently?

There will be very little traffic at that time of day -- so a car service would be good.

Or - where will you be more specifically? If near the Tower hotel -- you could just walk there and catch a cab. Or flag a cab on the street - three major roads come together there and there will be cabs.

But to be sure -- book a car service.

You do know that you must go thru check-in at least 30 or perhaps more minutes before the train, I assume.

They say 45 minutes. Probably not too much of a queue at 6 am, but I would still take 45 mins.

Book a car service or use Uber. I use Atlas Cars. They've always been on time.

I used to work near St Katherine's dock and did the trip between there and Euston (close to St Pancras) trip many times, often at that time of day. I would allow 25-30 mins for the trip. There may be black cabs around at that time of day but I would not bank on getting one without a wait. Book a mini cab - I generally used Addison Lee, albeit on a corporate account, but they are pretty good online too.

I would not check out of a flat or hotel and move just to get closer to St Pancras -- at that time in the AM the traffic won't be bad at all.

Thanks, everyone. I realize I neglected to mention that not only are we going at the crack of dawn, but on a Saturday, to boot.

I reckon that there will be plenty of minicab drivers available; we'll catch them right after they've taken home the Friday night revellers. Hope the car is clean enough....

Personally, I would never assume that I could catch/ grab a taxi at 5:00 in the morning. Book a car service ( often described as mini cab ) as suggested by those who live in London or have spent considerable time there.
