I plan on purchasing tickets on line for St Mark's Basilica to avoid the line. It looks like this ticket is just for the free entrance to the Basilica. We also want to go to St Mark's Museum and possibly the Pala d'oro and the Treasury which are all extra. Can I purchase advanced tickets for those as well, or is that ticket line not a problem? I've researched quite a bit and can't figure out where or how to buy tickets for the Museum.
We are going in May if that makes a difference and we plan on getting there first thing in the morning.
Thanks, Rich

It is possible to skip the line for the basilica but everything else must be paid for separately. I assume you've already seen this link, but just in case: http://www.venetoinside.com/en/saint_mark_s_basilica/
Also, try to visit from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm. During this time, the church turns on all of the interior lights, making for excellent viewing of the mosaics. If you go at any other time of day, the natural light can prove insufficient for seeing the details.
Have a great trip!
We bought tickets to avoid the lines, Unfortunately when flooding occurs the tickets unofficially become void and you have to wait on the line. We were in Venice for 10 days and noticed that if you went later in the day, or not the first thing in the morning, virtually no crowds. Apparently there is so much flooding from just Venice sinking, global warming and the tides, that the Square floods virtually all the time.
so you could buy the tics and hope for the best and have the info that they may not get you in any quicker.
