Tickets for Buckingham palace, tower of London, London eye - online or not?
All,
We are visiting London for 1st week for September. We plan to visit Tower of London, London eye and Buckingham palace during our trip. We are wondering if we should buy tickets for all the attractions online or buy them from ticket office once we reach there?
The reason we are confused is that either we can buy tickets online and save time standing in lines or we can reach there to see if we can use 2 for 1 offers for the attractions.
Any advice will be helpful. Thanks in advance!

We did 2 of the 3 last June. We got to the Tower at 10:30 am and had no wait. We took the 11:00 Beefeaters tour which was very good. We bought tickets for the eye at about 6:30 pm and had a short wait, maybe 15 min. They were offering packages and discounts for other attractions such as the wax museum. I don't know about Buckingham, but getting in to the other 2 was not a problem.

Tower of London -- No. And if you want to use the 2for1 Days Out vouchers, you can't buy them ahead of time -- If you do, you can't get the discount..
Eye -- NO. IT is VERY weather dependent so you need to see what the weather is like on the day and then you can book by phone or on-line while u=you are IN London.
Buckingham Palace - Yes. And consider the Royal Day Out ticket which is a combo covering the Queen's Gallery, the Royal Mews and the State Apartments.

Palace - yes as they are limited
Eye - no unless you like the risk of poor visibility
Tower - even if you don't want 2-4-1 the queues are short. Buying in advance fixes your plans which will be a pity if it is pouring down that day or you later discover something you really want to see that's only available that day

PREET81,seconding above suggestions to check out the weather first before visiting the Eye. Lines usually move more quickly than they appear from a distance.
Same goes for the SHARD, if you want another overview of London.

<<guess it is a personal thing. I like knowing that I HAVE tix cause I would sure hate to get there and find I can't get in>>
Well that's just daft with respect to the Tower. The tickets are readily available. And the 2for1 savings are immense.
And getting tickets for the Tower ahead of time means you will spend a LOT more (by foregoing the 2for1 discounts) for skipping a line that will be a mind-numbing wait of . . . 10-15 minutes at best.
Considering how London weather changes more than a politician's lies, getting Eye tickets in advance is inadvisable.
