Three day visit to Loire Valley

Jump to last reply

I am planning my itinerary for a short visit to the Loire Valley next June. We will be stopping in Chartres for two nights and then move on to the Loire Valley. What is the best location from which to view several castles from? The only castle that we would definitely like to see is Chenonceau. What else do you recommend that is in the area? We also like to visit vineyards if this is a good area to do that in. We were thinking of taking the train to a good location to rent a car and have the car to get around the Loire Valley and then return it before we hop a train to return to Paris. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. We want to make the most of our short time.
