Threat Level in UK

Has anyone flown into Heathrow since the bombing in Manchester and the raising of the threat level. I expect (hope) that arrivals may be less affected than departures, but am just wondering what your experience was, especially at Immigration.

Well threat level at Heathrow I think has been high always as fliers are always suspects. I would not worry too much about any big changes.

Passing through Heathrow immigration has been generally a very time consuming, irritating experience from some time now. If you are connecting through to another ticketed flight, it is somewhat swifter moving. But if you are trying to enter the UK itself, bring something to read while you wait in line.

Avoid.
People concerned with level of security or safety should best stay home.

The official threat level has just been marked down, back to where it was and has been for quite some time.

As it happens, there was an on-street athletics competition scheduled for yesterday in Manchester, and it all went off as planned.

DW, DD and I went to the Manchester Games yesterday and watched the high jump and long jump in Albert square and then walked dowen to Deansgate for the track events.

We had a great day out followed by a Chinese meal in Chinatown. Yes there was a greater than normal security presence, but that was reassuring more than anything. We looked at the flowers laid in St Ann's square as a tribute and found it very moving.

The only downside (for me) is the enormous media presence in St Ann's Square, doing their little pieces to camera and trying to interview anyone looking vaguely Muslim. It's about time they packed up their satellite vans and went home.

Funny to think that some people believe that the Police or Army solve terrorism. I'd think it was Intelligence that works best. If you see Intelligence then they failed.

Stupid people want to see things.
Since they can't see intelligence they want to see armed military
Armed military and intel ?
Trump and intel ?
He saw some and called his friend Putin.
Is he failing or succeeding ;-)

WoinParis, he is a buffoon. So embarrassed by him, his wife and children. This trip and all the flubs they made together. Please know that some of us in America are 100% opposite of him. I just got back from the UK and was asked several times about 45. I have yet to call him POTUS. Never will. I think the UK have enough problems of their own and had a good talk with a man on the train. He is not happy with Brexit. It is just a huge mess. We left a day after the Manchester attack but didn't fly commercial.
