We have a large group renting a big house in Doolin in early September for 10 days. We have 70-somethings, 30 and 40-somethings and a preteen in our group and we'll have 2 cars and plenty of enthusiasm for enjoying ourselves. A few questions:
1. We've heard local music there is very good; can anyone recommend a pub or venue that stands out for live music around Doolin?
2. We have some avid horse lovers in our group; I find a lot of information online about various stables and tours, but I would love to hear any first hand accounts of horse riding in the area.
3. I personally want to see as much of the Aran Islands as I can and I'm planning to take a day or so to myself to explore. Are any of the islands a must-see? Are there places to rent kayaks?
Thanks in advance!!

The pub to go to is a tiny place called Gus O'Connor. You can never anticipate if there is going to be any music or not. Depends on who drops by. We entered once at 3 PM to grab something to eat and left at 11 PM. Other days there was nothing going on. Their beef ster in guiness stout was very good. There is anoter pub (I forgot the name) on the other part of the village which also has lots of music.
I' personally would find 10 days in Doolin much too long. It is a tiny village and other than the 2 pubs nothing more to do around there.
